(Kaczor)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce following a litany of illnesses the passing of Carol Smith, on November 26, 2019 at Health Science Center.
Taking on this emotional plight to relieve Carol of her physical ailments are her two sons Justin and Scott, her adored grandson Aiden, and a plethora of family and friends all of whom be it through blood or otherwise became family to her, and all of whom were loved in their own way by her. Carol is long predeceased by her parents John and Pearl Kaczor and more recently has suffered the loss of multiple friends and family members who she now gets to reacquaint with.
Carol was gifted the ability to retire from working at a young age to be able to look after her twin boys. Despite the handful they were, she didn't let that stop her from getting out in the world putting her time in with various groups including Parents Without Partners serving as president for a couple terms, the Forever Young club, and multiple others. As the family grew more independent Carol also discovered the local karaoke scene where through her smooth angelic voice and her room brightening personality she was able to make many dear life-long friends.
As we lay her weakened body to rest we find comfort in knowing finally her spirit can soar freely and without pain, the way she always deserved to be. To celebrate, the family invites those closest to her to a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 at Green Acres Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing staff of G4 at HSC and resident doctor Laura for their compassionate care through Carol's last days as well as all who have reached out to show their love and support for a woman who clearly left her mark on so many of us.
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference."
