Joanne was born January 19, 1970 in Newton, New Jersey. She attended elementary, middle and high school in Mount Olive, New Jersey and then continued her education by attending the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated college with a B.A. in Communication Concentration in Public Relations. Joanne had a long career in marketing and advertising in and around the state of Florida. She was a Marketing Manager at Pointe Orlando in Orlando, Florida. Joanne was a volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Team Captain for Arnie’s March for Childhood Cancer Research. She was active in Visit Florida Committee, HSMAI-Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, Visit Florida Promotions Committee and Visit Orlando Partner Relations.
Joanne is survived by her father Walter J. Gerlesky and his wife Jane Massey of Summerfield, Florida, her brother Matthew J. Gerlesky of Summerfield, Florida and her nephew Jared Logan Gerlesky of Ocala, Florida along with many family members and friends. She was pre-deceased by her mother Dolores Collett.
Joanne was a kind, generous, compassionate individual always willing to help and will be deeply missed by all.
There will be a visitation at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 428 East Plant Street, Winter Garden, Florida on April 17, 2021 from 2-5PM.
