

Dover- Reverend William "Bill" Frederick Hayden, age 84, of Dover, FL went home to meet his Redeemer on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Winter Haven, FL after a brief illness. He was born Sunday, September 29, 1929 in Plant City, FL the son of William Edward Hayden and Annie Baggett Hayden. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Bible College, Lakeland, FL in 1950, after which he began his ministry as an evangelist, traveling to many churches throughout the region. He later served as the pastor of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Vero Beach, FL, and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Plant City, FL. Bill also served his country with honor as a Private First Class in the Army National Guard.
During his life, Bill worked in radio sales and promotion in Washington, DC, and as a professional saxaphone player, where he was widely known as "mr. Sax". He later founded the W.F. Hayden Security Company, which he operated successfully for many years. in 1995 he co-founded Selective Thoughts inspirational gifts with friend and business associate Donna Manning, and assisted in its operation and continuing success.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters Helen and Mary. He is survived by many beloved friends
who adored him in life, and will miss him dearly in his absence.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2013, at the Pleasant Grove First Assembly of God Church, 7051 Turkey Creek Road, Plant City, FL 33567. (813) 737-1012
