Joan Marcia Botwinick passed away peacefully September 4, 2021. She was born August 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to Mae and Sam Kalish. She married William (Bill) J. Botwinick on April 24, 1965, who predeceased her in death on June 23, 2006.
Joan was a graduate of Brooklyn College and began her professional career as an elementary school teacher in Brooklyn, NY. After marrying Bill and moving to central NJ in January 1970, Joan began the next chapter of her life as mom to her two daughters, Amy and Stacy. After the girls got older, Joan resumed her professional career by working as a secretary and administrative assistant in a local real estate office and then as a retailer in a local apparel store.
Joan is survived by her daughter Amy Divino, daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Andrew Katz, granddaughter Jordyn Divino, grandsons Jared and Steven Katz, granddaughter Ashley Katz, her furry granddaughter Sienna Divino, sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Jerry Bauman, and nephews Brian and Evan Bauman.
A graveside service for Joan will be held Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11:00am at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07040.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the home of Stacy and Andrew Katz on Saturday, September 12, 2021, from Noon to 5:00pm.
