Barbara Ann Klapko

Barbara Ann Klapko, age 85, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Barbara was born April 27, 1935 to the late Lloyd B. and Stephania Rose (Rebro) McAinsh in Flint, Michigan. Barbara graduated from Beecher High School, class of 1953. She is a survivor of the June 1953 Beecher tornado. For a brief period, she was employed at AC Spark Plug and was a lunch monitor at Hamady Elementary. On July 20, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Barbara married the love of her life, Richard Klapko. They were married for 64 years. Barbara loved all sports, reading and crafts, collecting Humpty Dumpties, and enjoyed going to antique and craft fairs. She was a wonderful, caring, and loving woman. Family was her primary emphasis in life and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Klapko; children: Anne (Paul) Stokes, Richard Klapko, Charles (Heather Chipman) Klapko; grandchildren: Ryan (Natalie) Gertiser, Elizabeth (Michael) Moon, Remington Klapko, Lauren Stokes, PJ Stokes, Christian Gilko, Katlain Gilko; great grandchildren: Kaedence Gertiser, Easton Gertiser, Lacey Gertiser, Olivia Elliott, Evan Elliott, Amanda Moon, Mason Moon, Matthew Moon, and Grant Moon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Klapko and her sister, Madeline (McAinsh) Sporman. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 9:00am - 11:00am at Reigle Funeral Home - 5501 W. Pierson, Road, Flushing, MI. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am with Father Roy Horning officiating. Inurnment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery following the service at the funeral home.
