History

The early years

In the early 1900s, the Oetting family started what is now known as Hockemeyer Funeral Home. The funeral home was located in Downtown Harlan, Indiana, before moving to our current location at 17629 State Road 37.

Recent history

In 1970, the Hockemeyer family assumed ownership and subsequently changed the business name to Hockemeyer Funeral Home. Jim Miller managed our funeral home until his retirement in 2014.
