She was a devoted wife and loving mother with a gentle and loving spirit who will be greatly missed by those who loved her. She was a faithful member of City Church of Chattanooga for 33 years. Barbara retired after 30 years in Nursing. She loved to crochet and knit for local charities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Barbara Thurman.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Ray King; her children, Mark (Wanda) King, Lisa (Richard) Rose and David (Barbara) King; brother, Chris (Kathy) Thurman; grandchildren, Lauren (Stephen) Rae, Megan and Allison King; great-grandchildren, Drew and Ellie Brewer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hearth Hospice and her caregivers, Brandi, Laura and Ben.
Those who walk upright enter into peace. They will find rest as they lie in death. Isaiah 57:2.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at City Church of Chattanooga on Lee Highway with the Rev. Ernie Reno officiating. Burial will be private.
