John Christoffels

John Christoffels, 97, beloved husband of Barbara (Huddleston) Christoffels passed away on November 13, 2019. He was born exactly 97 years before on November 13, 1922 in Everett MA to the late Adrian Christoffels and Emilie (Ireberry). John was preceded in death by his sister Emilie Marie Christoffels (Gurnon), brother Adrian Christoffels, brother Gerald Christoffels, and sister Antionette "Tony" Christoffels (Dorsey) all of Massachusetts. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and served from 1943-1946. John moved to California in 1946 and started working for Pacific Bell. During his 35 years with Pacific Bell, John held numerous positions and retired as the Director of the Glendale Training Center. During these years, John became an avid billiards player and amateur golf player. Once he retired, he relocated to Oklahoma in 2001. Wanting to always stay active and engaged in life, John volunteered at the Oklahoma City Omniplex for ten years and the Moore hospital for six years. Over the last several years, John has been an active member of the Moore Brand Senior Center, challenging everyone to a good game of billiards or sharing his favorite joke. John is survived by his children: M.E. “Chris” Chrisstoffels of Oklahoma City, OK, Paul Lane Christoffels of Eugene, OR Michael Adrian Christoffels of Eugene, OR; his stepchildren: Debbie (Edwards) Alexander and husband Jackie of Sulphur, OK, Carolyn Edwards Johnson and husband Harold of Edmond, OK and Amy (Edwards) Stovall and husband Brian of Prescott, AZ; Grandchildren: Emilie Lane Christoffels of Eugene, OR, Monica Christoffels of Charlotte, NC and Nicolo Christoffels of Eugene, OR; step-grandchildren: Leah Lucio of Mansfield, TX, Jason Alexander of Lone Grove, OK, Melissa Lee of Boston, MA, Kyle Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK, Cody Edwards Johnson of Edmond, OK, Chelsi Johnson of Bedford, TX, Abigail Stovall of Flagstaff, AZ, and Sarah Stovall of Prescott, AZ; Step great grandchildren: Marena (Burrows) Updegraff of Mansfield, TX, Ryan Burrows of Mansfield, TX, Isabella Lucio of Mansfield, TX, Eliott Lee of Boston, MA, Dashiell Lee of Boston, MA, Jaxon Alexander of Lone Grove, OK, Jayden Alexander of Lone Grove, OK, Tana Stivers of Bedford, TX, Vincent Stivers of Bedford, TX and Mackenna Johnson of Bedford, TX; Step great great grandchild: Liam Burrows of Mansfield, TX. Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at New Hope Christian Church located at 12323 S. Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City, OK.
