Elaine was more than just my grandparent, she was my NANA. It’s funny looking back on my childhood as an adult and fully understanding what that name, NANA, meant. She never wanted to be a grandma, she’d always correct you and say I’m not a grandma, I’m a Nana. What I didn’t know at the time and what I understand now is how a four letter word Nana was synonymous with LOVE. 

Nana, you were my biggest fan and it’s hard to come to grips with the reality that I will no longer get to see your face, or feel the loving embrace of your touch as you rubbed my beard like you always did.  It was the little things that you did, unknowingly, all the time that made you so amazing in my eyes.

I’ll never forget  the times we shared while you baked your extravagant wedding cakes.  You would always let me try the frosting before you put it in the baker bag, as if a child would have the educated palate to decipher whether the frosting was appropriate for someone’s special day.  It’s amazing to me, looking back on the moments, how you always made me feel so important, so special and most importantly so loved.

My most fond memories of you were the contests that we would have when we exchanged birthday and holiday cards.  It all started as a fun game, seeing who could make more X’s and O’s on the cards.  It got to the point where we would have to insert lined paper because we would mark so many.  You really knew how to make me feel loved, not because you had to, but because deep down it was all you ever wanted to do.

There will never be another like you, so full of life, energy, sass and excitement.  I didn’t think it would be possible to live a life without you in it but such will be the task ahead. I hope hat you were able to look back on your experiences with me with great joy and I hope I’ve done everything I could to make you proud. Until we meet again, rest in peace my sweet Angel, my NANA.

I fell in love with Elaine 55years ago and I'll love her forever.

I meet elaine at Cindy's family functions,.she was funny ,and I'm so happy I got too spend some Christmas eve with her and tell her goodbye ..

I have such great memories of all the times we shared as families - the bike rides through the neighborhood, the barbecues, Aunt Elaine's beautiful and amazingly decorated cakes, the list goes on. It's those memories that I will always look back on and cherish! 

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I know it's cliche to say that Aunt Elaine is now up in heaven watching over you, guiding you, and is always with you - but I sincerely believe it to be true! She's never more than a thought, memory, or chat away. 


Elaine. A Beautiful Lady. A Beautiful Smile. You had so much talent. Baking, Cooking, Card Making and more. You made the best cakes ever.   Now you are free.  Fly high Elaine. You will never be forgotten.   Much Love, Pat 

My dear friend, Elaine, we met in drivers training class at Pershing high school.  That began a 60 year friendship. We shared everything, laughter, tears and just plain life. I’ve missed you the last few years  more than you know. I loved you then and I love you now.  I know you’re happy, so Rest In Peace my dear, dear friend.
