Fred Berry, president of Berry Funeral Home and the Knoxville market director, is a fourth-generation funeral director, serving the Knoxville community since the early 1980s. After graduating from Doyle High School, Fred received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the University of Tennessee and an associate degree from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville.
Fred is a member of Northstar Church - South Campus and enjoys serving his community through the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville, where he has served as key club advisor and on the board of directors. He served several years on the Knoxville Metropolitan Planning Commission, both as a commissioner and chairman. Currently Fred serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee for both the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and the Cemetery Association of Tennessee. He also serves on the Knoxville Center of the Deaf board of directors.
Fred has been married since 1987 and he and his wife have three sons and two daughters-in-law. In his spare time Fred loves to run, bike, garden and travel.
Lauren Rene Hartweg Frerichs
Lauren Frerichs is the location manager at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She has been serving families in our community since 2013. She felt called into the funeral industry after teaching high school chemistry. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Jefferson State. She loves planning meaningful services and helping families honor their loved one in a unique and personalized way. In her spare time she leads music at Grace and Peace Church, loves hiking in the Smoky Mountains and enjoys ballroom dancing with her husband.
Tim L Stinnett
A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Tim has been with the company since the early 2000s. He is a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville. Tim strives to uphold quality service and treats each family as he would his own.
Tim believes the funeral industry is a ministry and an outreach to uplift those in need. He is honored to serve the people in the Knoxville and surrounding areas.
Tim resides in Blount County on a miniature horse farm with his family.
