    General Manager

    Barry was born and raised in Athens, Alabama. After high school, Barry attended Jefferson State Community College, earning an associate degree in funeral service education. Having served over 3 decades in the funeral industry, Barry loves the opportunity to help families of Madison County and surrounding areas as a valuable part of our team.

    Barry's funeral career began on January 15, 1984 at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, beginning as an apprentice and, after completing mortuary school, was promoted to funeral director and embalmer. He served in that position until 1992, when he was promoted to location manager.

    After serving the Athens Community at McConnell’s for 26 years, Barry transferred to Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in 2009, where he served as general manager for almost 5 years, before relocating to serve in his current position as general manager for 3 area locations.

  • Teresa Elkins Jenkins

    Manager

    Since 1997, Teresa has provided compassionate care to families in the Athens area. Teresa earned her degree in mortuary science from Jefferson State Community College in 2008. As a proud member of the Dignity Memorial team, she guides families with care and compassion. When she is not serving families, Teresa enjoys spending time with her beloved grandson.

    Kenneth has been a funeral director at our funeral home since April 2003 and has served the families of Limestone County with compassionate and professional care since 1990. Kenneth graduated from Elkmont High School in 1957. Kenneth enjoys his time off with his family at Gulf Shores.

  • Stephen D Thomas

    Funeral Director

    Stephen has been a funeral director with us since April 2011. Steve graduated from Ardmore High School in 1991 and has compassionately served the families in Limestone County since 2004 with professional care. If he is not at the funeral home, you will likely find Steve enjoying time with his family or going to church.
