With a focus on hometown traditions and local service, we welcome your family during this difficult time. We offer many options to your family, including conventional use of our chapels for visitations and funeral services. Families may also host a celebratory memorial gathering or reception in our beautiful and spacious room ideal for spending time with loved ones. We are happy to arrange any catering needs with a 3rd-party caterer to create a custom menu for your guests. To further show our community support, we proudly offer Batesville Caskets that are manufactured right here in Indiana by fellow Hoosiers.
Thoughtful funeral and memorial services
As a locally operated funeral home in Bloomington, we understand the needs of our community. All of our funeral and cremation services are designed to help Hoosier families celebrate and honor their loved ones. We understand that losing a loved one is a difficult experience and offer unique ways to remember them for years to come.
Our associates are particularly skilled at creating one-of-a-kind memorials that celebrate a loved one's passions and personality. We can find inspiration almost anywhere, whether it's a lifelong passion, a treasured poem or a favorite color. Imagine a putting green in our chapel with personalized golf balls for all who attend the service. Envision a processional of antique cars with your loved one's restored vehicle leading the way. There are thousands of ways to celebrate a life—leave the details and planning to us.
In addition to assisting you in your time of immediate need, our team will also help you plan a funeral service in advance. If interested, you may meet with a counselor and funeral director at Deremiah Frye Mortuary Greene and Harrell Chapel to learn about the services and products that are available and make the right decisions for your family.

Located in Bloomington, Indiana, Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene and Harrell Chapel has provided burial and cremation services for more than 70 years.
In 1946, Orville Greene and Bob Harrell, a former funeral director of Allen Funeral Home decided to start their own funeral home, which they named Greene and Harrell Funeral Home. The original funeral home was located at Kirkwood and Lincoln. Funeral directors Don Frye and Ron Deremiah later joined Orville and Bob in 1970.
In 1973, Orville, Greene and Harrell sold the funeral home to Don Frye and Ron Deremiah, who changed the name to Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene and Harrell Chapel. Seeking a new location in 1975, Frye and Deremiah moved the funeral home to where it is today at 700 Gourley Pike in Bloomington.
