Funeral and cremation

Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home

How may we help you?

Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home in Carlyle, Saskatchewan, has provided funeral and cremation services to area families since 1961, when Bill and Shirley Orsted established the firm. Through the years, the company has expanded and evolved, but the guarantee of compassionate care remains the same. So much so that Bill's son, Wayne, is still the funeral director at Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home, demonstrating a commitment not only to his family's legacy but also to the changing needs of families planning funerals and memorial services.

Let's celebrate life

Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home serves families of all faiths, backgrounds and cultures. We provide all types of services, from traditional funeral services in our chapel to modern celebrations of life with live music, catering and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of a loved one. We are also well-versed in many different funeral rites and customs and promise to honour your family's traditions.

Whatever your wishes, we go the extra mile to make it happen—and we do it with a level of empathy and attention to detail that's uncommon in this world. From bagpipes to cupcakes, puppies to putters, we take the things that mattered to someone and string them together to create a singular, heartfelt celebration. Alternatively, if all you want is a simple cremation so that cremated remains may be scattered in a personally meaningful location, we can take care of that, too.

Bill and Shirley Orsted established Orsted Funeral Home in 1961 in Estevan. In 1978, they purchased funeral homes in Carlyle and Arcola from Smulan Funeral Chapel of Weyburn. The following year, they bought Martin & Hagel Funeral Home of Estevan & Oxbow. In 1985, Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home absorbed Ruthven Funeral Home, and the company's Arcola branch was closed.

Today, Orsted-Carlyle Funeral Home is part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, offering exclusive benefits and amenities as well as compassionate care and personalized services.
