History

Edward F. Carter Funeral Home was founded by Edward F. Carter in 1950, with locations in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and Montrose, New York. At that time, Edward was employed by the New York Central Railroad System, working in Croton-on-Hudson.

Family tradition of funeral care

After his death in 1972, his son, Edward F. Carter Jr., continued the family business, growing it to become among the largest funeral providers in the area. Hard work, dedication and genuine compassion for Croton-on-Hudson families enabled Edward F. Carter Funeral Home to grow and flourish and become the respected funeral home it is today.
