History

Delmar D. Edwards and his wife, Hazel, founded Edwards Funeral Home in 1933. With the help of his nephew, J.D. Edwards, Delmar moved to a new facility at 12th and B Streets in 1936. In 1939, a fire destroyed the home and a new facility was built in 1940.

Growth and expansion

In the 70s, the family expanded their care in Crawford County with the addition of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren and the purchase of nearby Fentress Mortuary. Today, Delmar "Butch" Edwards III and his brother, Jim R. Edwards manage Edwards Funeral Home and uphold the tradition of excellent, honest service set forth by their late father Delmar Edwards Jr., their cousin J.D.

At Edwards Funeral Home, we are proud to carry on the proud heritage and high standard of care that began with Delmar Sr.'s vision and leadership.
