About

Since 1925, D.O McComb & Sons has grown to be the leading provider of funeral services in Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana. In 1928, the McComb family opened D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, which today is still considered a premier funeral home in the community. For nearly a century, D.O. McComb has continued to grow to its present 6 locations and has served thousands of families of diverse backgrounds and faiths.

Our Covington Knolls funeral home

Chapel at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington KnollsOur Covington Knolls location was opened in 1999 to better serve the community living on Fort Wayne’s southwest side. The facility is conveniently located off I-69 and Jefferson Blvd., which is easily accessible for families and their guests. The open-concept facility is all on one floor, with multiple chapels. It also is equipped with a large parking lot, a lounge for children and hospitality rooms.

Locations throughout Fort Wayne

Regardless of which of our 6 Fort Wayne locations a family may select (Lakeside Park, Foster Park Maplewood Park, Pine Valley Park, Covington Knolls Funeral Home or the Tribute Center), our dedicated team is here to help those in need. We share a common bond and passion to help those who are grieving. With professionalism and a kind heart, we will partner with you to share the unlimited possibilities of a unique and personalized event.

All of our facilities are equipped with several large chapels to accommodate large visitations, funerals and religious services. They also have hospitality lounges for families to gather. We are also happy to arrange any catering through a 3rd-party caterer, creating a custom menu fitting for your vision and guests.

Making arrangements in advance

Understanding the stress of making emotional decisions during a time of loss, D.O. McComb & Sons has committed to developing a full-service pre-arrangement department to encourage planning funerals in advance. As one of the largest pre-planning firms in the country, D.O. McComb & Sons' family service counselors are available to meet with families at any of our funeral home locations as well as in-home visits to help relieve families of unnecessary burdens during their time of need.

Personalized monuments and markers

As an added benefit to the families we serve, we partner closely with Birkmeier & Sons Monument Company. Since 1880, the family-owned monument company has helped Fort Wayne families discover, create and customize monuments that commemorate the lives of loved ones in unique and memorable ways. They offer a wide variety of memorialization options, including bronze markers, mausoleums, benches, uprights and flat markers.

We'll be there for you

As a part of our continued growth and commitment to Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas, in 2016, D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes joined the Dignity Memorial® network, North America's largest provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services.

At D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, we are committed to helping you with compassionate, professional service. Please contact us if you need immediate assistance or if you would like more information about our funeral and cremation services.

Decades of service

Our highly trained team has years of experience serving families in their time of need with the determination to provide the highest quality of service. Our focus is concentrated on creating meaningful ceremonies to commemorate and celebrate a life through personalization. This same concept carries over into our memorial creation process, which is handled through our memorial specialists at Birkmeier Monuments.

We care about Fort Wayne

Active in our community where we live and work, we support numerous local charities and events. For over 25 years we have brought Dr. Alan Wolfelt to this area, offering a free grief seminar to all in our community as well as providing an avenue for continuing education credits for professional caregivers. Our annual holiday seminar brings together many in our community who seek comfort and healing as well as remembrance of those we have lost.
