  • Willie Theodore Bushnell

At a very young age, William knew that funeral service was his calling. Louisiana born and raised, William grew up across the street from a historical cemetery in the city of Ville Platte. Childhood memories of funeral processions and services made a lasting impression on young William, and he learned early on the significance of celebrating a loved one’s life with dignity and respect.

William earned his degree in mortuary science from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.

Understanding what it's like to be on the other side of the arrangement conference, William puts the families first, giving him a record of service excellence. He stands firm in abiding by the highest ethical standards, serving with the utmost integrity.

  • Claude Mutope Akamafula

    Funeral Director

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Claude moved to Texas in the summer of 1998. First settling in San Antonio, Claude studied mortuary science at San Antonio College and served his apprenticeship following graduation at Porter Loring Mortuary. In 2009, Claude relocated to Cypress, Texas, and, after a persistent search, was hired by the service center in December 2010, transferring 5 years later to Garden Oaks Funeral Home.

Claude loves mixed martial arts, archery, reggae, jazz and salsa music. Though he misses New York City every day, living and working in a large diverse city like Houston is wonderful, especially when the Knicks, Nets, Globetrotters, Mets, Yankees, Giants or Jets are in town.

  • Cindy Y Pineda

    Funeral Director

Since 2005, Cindy has provided compassionate care to the families at Garden Oaks Funeral Home. As a child, she knew her life's calling was to guide and care for families in one of the most difficult and personal times in life. Cindy became a licensed funeral director and embalmer after earning her associate degree in applied science at Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 2004, and she has since been dedicated to serving her community.

When she is not serving families, Cindy loves being a mom and enjoys swimming, traveling and spending time with her own family, living her life with a focus on faith, hope and love.
