Born and raised in Texas, David Dotson graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in November 2014.
David and his family moved to Kingsport in September 2015 where he began as funeral director and embalmer for East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park. He was promoted to general manager in July 2016.
For over 20 years David worked as a critical care paramedic and flight paramedic. He also served as the senior pastor and music minister for Hilltop Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Texas. David has served in the mission field in all parts of the world since 2001, the last being in Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula.
David enjoys spending his free time with family, whether playing and writing music with his son, hanging out with his daughter or shopping with his wife. He bases all of his personal and professional work ethics on Colossians 3:23, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Jami Renee Zander
Jami Lawson was born and raised in southwest Virginia and graduated with her mortuary degree from John Tyler Community College in 2012. Jami was humbled by the sting of loss at an early age with her mother’s untimely passing and felt the calling to serve families. She has been with East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park as funeral director and embalmer since October 2015. Jami enjoys spending time with her son, watching University of North Carolina basketball and spending time at the lake with her family and friends.
