Deborah became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in San Diego, California, in 1999 and in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 2004. In 1997 she earned her certificate in mortuary science from Cypress College in Cypress, California, and served her apprenticeship at Poway Bernardo and Humphrey Mortuary. In 2001 she took a position with Greenwood Mortuary in Chula Vista, California, where she served until 2003 when her husband was transferred with the U.S. Navy to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Deborah was able to transfer as well and comfortably settled in with both of her new work-families at Rosewood Kellum and Smith and Williams funeral homes. While taking time off work following the birth of her first son in 2005, Deborah attended Tidewater Community College and earned her associate degree in funeral services. Deborah returned back to work with us in 2010 and has since proudly served area families.
Deborah and her husband welcomed their second son in 2012. When she isn't working she loves spending time with her family, entertaining guests, traveling, eating whatever her husband cooks and keeping her dog, Diego, calm. Deborah is a member of Rock Church and owns a small business.
