    John has served families in New York and Florida since the late 1980s. Originally from Frankfort, New York, he now lives in Fort Lauderdale. John is a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and enjoys spending time with his family and participating in community events.

    Peter J Manfredi

    General Manager

    A native of Pompano Beach, Peter began his career in funeral service with Kraeer Funeral Home with a summer job in 1994. While studying music at Stetson University, Peter decided to enroll in Lynn University’s mortuary science program and become a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

    He has maintained his love of music and serves as music director and organist for a Fort Lauderdale Catholic church. In addition to careers in funeral service and music, Peter volunteers his time as a Palm Beach County reserve deputy sheriff. Outside of work and community involvement, Peter enjoys spending time with family and friends, wine tastings, weekend getaways to the Keys and taking cruises.

    Mark J Petratis

    Funeral Director

    Mark has been a resident of South Florida since February 1994. He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Bachelor of Science degree. Continuing his education at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois, Mark graduated in 1994 and has since been a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

    Mark is a member of the Pompano Beach Kiwanis Club, Pompano Beach Elks Lodge #1898, Knights of Columbus John A. Hill Council No. 4955 of Pompano Beach and he also volunteers at Pompano Elementary School. He is also a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

    Married since the 1990s, his wife is also a funeral director and they live in Coral Springs, Florida.

    Eleanor Frances Mccarthy

    Funeral Director

    Eleanor Frances McCarthy has been serving families in this area since the early 1980s. Born in Pennsylvania, she has been a resident of Florida since 1977 and earned her associate's degree in funeral service education in 1985 from Miami Dade College. Proud of her profession, Eleanor is dedicated to the families she serves. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family, friends and her poodles, Lily and Rose.

    Larry M Ott

    Funeral Director

    Larry, originally from Gladstone, Michigan, and a graduate of Trinity College, spent years as a school teacher before returning to school to receive a degree in mortuary science from Miami Dade College. He has been a funeral director with the Dignity Memorial® network since the early 1990s.

    A past member of the board of trustees for Fort Lauderdale City Cemeteries, Larry currently serves on the Broward County Navy League and volunteers with Fort Lauderdale’s annual Fleet Week. He coordinates a Christmas project for the Fort Lauderdale Life Guards each year and is a deacon at his church. In his free time, Larry spends time at the beach, collects cigar boxes and humidors and watches British TV programs.

    Robert Dale Russell


    Robert Russell started working at the R. Jay Kraeer Funeral Home in July 1967. He began as a general employee—working funerals, making removals, running ambulance service and cutting the grass. Bob graduated from Miami Dade College with a degree in mortuary science. He became a licensed embalmer in 1971 and a licensed funeral director the following year.

    In 1974, Bob became the manager of the Kraeer Fort Lauderdale location and by 1976 was managing 5 more locations. Previously a co-owner, Bob has remained dedicated to the Kraeer Funeral Home family and has been a consistent presence throughout several changes. Bob served as a regional partner over operations in Florida and Puerto Rico before transitioning to his position as a consultant.

    Bob served on the board of the Florida Funeral Directors Association including a term as president. He is also the president of several Osceola County funeral homes and cemeteries.

    Bob is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren and in his free time enjoys fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
