Original funeral home location
Originally located at 210 West Eighth Street, George McCarthy Funeral Home was founded in 1920 by George F. McCarthy Sr. It was known as the McCarthy-Brown Undertaking Company until McCarthy purchased the interest of Brown in 1924, changing the name to George McCarthy Funeral Home.
A new beginning
Our funeral home in Pueblo moved to 401 Broadway after the flood of 1921. When George McCarthy left the business in 1946, his son, George F. McCarthy Jr., continued the family’s management of the firm. Kevin F. McCarthy, son of George F. McCarthy Jr., was named president and chief operating officer of the firm in 1992.
Although much has changed in Pueblo, our commitment to service stays the same. George McCarthy Funeral Home is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network, which brings innovative options to all our families.
