Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens incorporates 11 separate gardens, a large chapel mausoleum, a garden crypt section and a cremation garden named Tranquil Oaks. Most of the gardens depict biblical scenes as the main feature for each garden.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, James E. Springer founded Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1954. Jim was one of the early pioneers of perpetual care memorial parks and acted as past president of the Virginia Cemetery Association.
The legacy continues
Today, Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers. Jim's grandson, Tony Peterson, continues the legacy of the Springer-Peterson family with compassionate service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
