Elmer Richard "Dick" Yarington opened Yarington's/White Center Funeral Home in the White Center neighborhood of Seattle in June of 1948. With his wife, Frances, Dick built a thriving business and focused on helping people and working in the community.
A growing business
The growth of the Yarington family business came naturally through Frances’s previous experience in teaching and nursing as she supported the caregivers in the community, as well as Dick’s engaging and effortless ability to serve and comfort families in their time of need. Soon, the couple added another funeral home, cemetery and mausoleum to their family business, which greatly expanded the availability of services they could offer.
Now more than 6 decades later, families are still met with the same compassion and personalized service for which we have become known. Although Dick and Frances Yarington are no longer with us, their legacy lives on. Today, the team at Yarington’s/White Center Funeral Home takes great pride in continuing the example set by the Yaringtons’ uncompromising service and commitment to the White Center and surrounding Seattle community.
