Generations of funeral service to Southport

Mr. AD Peacock and Mr. William “Bill” Newnam shared a vision of opening a funeral home to serve their neighbors in Southport. That dream became a reality in 1985, when they converted a home on Howe Street known as “Dr. Hornstein’s office” into a full-service funeral home. Their community accepted Peacock-Newnam Funeral Home with open arms. After health issues affected Mr. Peacock, he transferred operations to Mr. Newnam. Our funeral home grew in popularity until Mr. Newnam’s retirement, when he transferred ownership to Gregory and Delores White.

We became Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service when we added a crematorium on-site to better serve our neighbors. Shortly after, in 2008, Rick and Shawna Sanders joined the White family. In August 2012, they opened White Funeral and Cremation Service in Shallotte in growing Brunswick County.
