Community burial gardens

The cemetery includes many beautiful gardens for traditional ground burial. The gardens of Memories, Mediation and Serenity allow for upright granite monuments. Other gardens allow only for flat bronze markers. Our veterans garden honors those who sacrificed for our country.

Mausoleum options

Princess Anne Memorial Park is home to several community mausoleums for aboveground burial. There are indoor and outdoor crypts, as well as single crypts, side-by-side companion crypts and tandem companion crypts. Chapel of Peace is one of the few climate-controlled mausoleums in the Hampton Roads area. Any family who selects mausoleum entombment has the option to hold their loved one’s service in our mausoleum chapel.

Cremation options

Those who choose cremation memorialization have many options at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Cremation benches, pedestals and columbaria come in many styles and colors; they can be for one person or an entire family. There are indoor and outdoor granite-front niches, as well as glass-front niches in the Chapel of Peace, giving families who choose cremation the opportunity to display meaningful pictures and memorabilia that celebrates a loved one’s life.

Traditional ground burial is still very much an option for families who select cremation. We allow cremation burial in any of our gardens, which means that a family who chooses a mix of traditional burial and cremation can be buried together.

Build-to-suit estates

A custom-built private cemetery estate is a legacy of distinction. We have many undesignated areas throughout our beautiful gardens that allow you to create a custom site for now and generations to come. Custom options include private mausoleums, a family columbarium, private gated estates, semiprivate bench estates and hedge estates. Options are generally limited only by your imagination, and when you choose to build custom, we will help you select the skilled artisans and contractors who can best fulfill your wishes.

History

Since the DeHart family established Princess Anne Memorial Park in 1959, the cemetery has grown with the Virginia Beach community. Fields that originally surrounded the cemetery property gradually filled with stately homes and small businesses, yet they did not bring the bustle of the big city. Today, Princess Anne Memorial Park is a well-maintained final resting place, and we pledge to serve families with the finest of care for years to come.
