With a long history of professional, compassionate care, members of each family continue to uphold a tradition of excellence in funeral service for their friends and neighbors. In fact, Constance Perna, the daughter of funeral home founder Frank Perna, oversees day-to-day operations herself.

In 1955, Frank Perna opened Perna Funeral Home on Massachusetts Avenue on Buffalo’s west side. In 1963, he built a second location on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo. The Massachusetts Avenue funeral home operated until 1970, when it closed.

In 2004, Frank’s daughter, Constance Perna, and her late husband, Michael Pellegrino, opened a state-of-the-art funeral home at 1671 Maple Road in Williamsville. Frank's Hertel Avenue location and the new Maple Road funeral home both became known as Perna-Pellegrino Funeral Home.

Mergers to accommodate growth

In 2008, the Perna-Pellegrino funeral homes joined with Dengler and Roberts funeral home group, which had formed in 1999, when the Dengler funeral homes merged with George J. Roberts and Sons. In July of the following year, the 2 Perna-Pellegrino funeral homes were renamed Perna, Dengler, Roberts.

Today, we operate as part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, burial, cremation and cemetery service providers under Constance's steady guidance and expertise.
