Alfred J. Aragona, 80, of Berkeley, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at his home. He was born in Linden and lived in Jersey City and Clifton before moving to Berkeley 12 years ago. Mr. Aragona was an electrical engineer for Servo Systems, Montvale for 25 years. Prior to that, he worked at Curtis Wright, Carlstadt for 15 years, retiring in 1996. He was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River.He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose (DiPerna); his brother and sisters, Joseph, Marie Sorbera, Jean Aragona and Tina Ciampaglia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at St. Joseph Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the National Parkinson's Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
