Roy “Wayne” Ashcraft, 55, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, after a brief illness. Wayne was born on January 21, 1954, in Booneville, MS, the oldest child of Roy Milton and Lena Pearl Kizer Ashcraft. His family traveled through out the world with his father’s Air Force career and Wayne attended school in Guam and Nebraska before his family returned home to Booneville upon his father’s military retirement.Wayne graduated from Booneville High School in 1972. He attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College, first majoring in Art and later in Drafting. He graduated in 1980 with a degree in Drafting and Design. He worked as a draftsman on projects in Texas and Louisiana, as well as Yellow Creek in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. Before becoming disabled, he was a supervisor at FCA Manufacturing in Corinth.On February 16, 2001, Wayne married Monica Danielle Aday and they currently reside in Tishomingo, MS, to be near Wayne’s mother.Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Ashcraft and Steve Kizer officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 9:00 on Tuesday and until service time on Wednesday.He is survived by his wife, Monica of Tishomingo; his mother, Lena of Tishomingo; one brother, Gary (Shelia) Ashcraft of Walnut; three sisters, Deborah (John) Vinterella of Mandeville, LA, Marsha (Chris) Hart of Santee, CA, and Sherri Johnson of Booneville. He is also survived by three nieces, six nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.He is preceded in death by his father, Roy M. Ashcraft, his maternal grandparents, Allen and Ottie Bolton Kizer and paternal grandparents, Carl and Ruth Brown Ashcraft and his mother-in-law, Mildred Osborn Aday.Pallbearers will be Ritchie Aday, Rodney Aday, Devin Ashcraft, Ricky Butler, Will Johnson, and Glen David Qualls.Arrangements under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home, Booneville, MS.
