Charles F. Braswell January 29, 1940 - January 20, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA— Charles F. Braswell, age 69, resident of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery on Friday, January 22, 2010, 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Mathew Avera officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Mr. Braswell, son of Hazel Bishop Braswell and the late Cluade Wilson Braswell, was born January 29, 1940 in Columbus. He attended Wynnbrook Baptist Church and was a veteran, serving his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Braswell was retired from Mead Coated Board, Mahrt, AL. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gaynell Braswell of Columbus; his mother, Hazel Braswell of Columbus; two sons, Steve Braswell and his wife Tammie of Jacksonville, FL and Jeff Braswell, also of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Sharon Cummings and her husband Mike of St. Petersburg, FL; one brother, Don Braswell of Columbus; three grandchildren, Patrick, Zach, and Stephanie Braswell, all of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Wynell Hardy and her husband James of Columbus; brother-in-law, William Phelps of Plains, GA; other relatives and friends.
