Ruth M. Baird, 76, of Odessa passed away January 28, 2010 at Regency Hospital. She was born January 23, 1934 to Albert Wesley Bryant and Mary Ruth Turner Bryant in Shamrock, Texas. She married Wendel Don Baird June 5, 1950 in Wellington, Texas. She traveled with Don on the pipeline for years. She worked for Bill Sears as a Meat wrapper. She managed Rings and Things at Permian Mall for 10 years. She worked as office manager for her son Wes at Bulldog Iron and Metal. She cared for her Father and Mother as they aged and until their deaths. She loved the Lord, music, crocheting, and sewing. She loved to cook and try new recipes. She was the comforter that all of the family came to for wisdom and direction. We will miss her saying “I love you Shug and Ohhh my…” Her passion was her husband Don and her family. God is good and heals all sorrow.She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother.She is survived by her husband, brother, Gene Padgett of Winslow, AZ., son, Wesley Don Baird and wife Carla, daughters, Pamela Ruth Baird Ross and husband Kenney of Big Spring, and Debra Louise Baird Solis of Raleigh, N.C., grandchildren, Melissa Kay Baird Forsythe, Jeremy Bass, Eric Daniel Ross, Elisa Ross Bird, John Christopher Solis, Lindsey Solis, Emily Baird Gonzalez, Wesley David Baird, Natalie Kay Baird, Shelby Solis, Jodie Rogers, and Mark McMahon, and 13 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Paul Baird officiating.
