Robert Lloyd Carnahan

December 15, 1950July 27, 2020

With his loved ones by his side, and with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend on July 27, 2020.

Lloyd was born in Brandon, Manitoba and grew up on a farm in a small town west of Brandon called Kemney. He attended a one room school grades 1-8. Lloyd’s parents also ran a corner store with gas pumps and a lunch bar. They moved to Langley from Manitoba in July 1964, and they later moved to South Carvoth in Langley where his parents ran a corner store. In 1968 his family moved to Peardonville Road in Abbotsford, moving again in 1970 to Morey Ave. where his parents had two duplexes. Their next move was 1971 to Park Drive.

Lloyd and June met through a friendship with her brother Ken. Lloyd asked June to marry him on St Patrick’s Day 1974 and he married the love of his life, Laura June Carnahan, on July 13, 1974.

In his working years Lloyd was a porter at SFU, grounds person for Langley School Board, labourer at Willows, Canada Packers, Maplewood, PanReady and Lilydale Foods until his retirement.

Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife June of 46 years, sons Scott (Andrea), and Brian (Esther), Brother Al (Colleen) and Marc, sister-in-law Sylvia, cherished grandchildren; Dexter, Maeva and Oscar, nieces and nephews, cousin Ken Bell in Outlook Sask., friends and family in Manitoba and Heather Andrew.

Lloyd was predeceased by his Father Reaburn in 1973, Mother Beth in 2013 and his Brother-in-law Ken in 2019.
