Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, October 6,, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Abilene officiated by Pastor Clyde Kieschnick. Inurnment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park where he will be buried next to his mother.
Marshall was born on October 16, 1946 in Merkel, Texas to the late Marshall Wren Dunaway, II and Evelyn Edna (Bigler) Dunaway. He was raised in Abilene where he graduated from Abilene High School in 1965. He eventually began a professional career as an electrician, and eventually retired from Pollock Electric many years later. Marshall loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He supported National Parks and Wildlife Services, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and Zion Lutheran Church. After living in several different cities throughout the years, he returned to Abilene to be a support to his mom and eventually joined Zion Lutheran Church. He loved his family and enjoyed creating memories with his children and granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children and spouses, his daughter Johanna Dunaway and her daughter, Pace Pipes; his son Edward Dunaway, and his wife, Melissa Parrott Dunaway and her sons, Jonathan Rattay, Aleczander Parrott, Aaron Parrott; special friends, Mike Dodson and Jay Heart and Robert Pelton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
