Sam Lee Day

A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, in Abilene City Cemetery, with Wayne Lenz and Tom Merryman officiating, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd, Abilene.

Sam was born April 21, 1932 to Enoch Daniel Day and Lennie Clarice Reese Day in Coleman, Texas. He was employed as a rancher. Sam really enjoyed working on his ranch with his cattle. He loved to go hunting and fishing. Sam was a Mason and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorthy Ray Day (12-02-12); and two sisters, Billie Baldock and Carol Mitchell.

Survivors include his son, Sam Day, Jr. and wife, Patricia Kay, of Rowden, Texas; two daughters, Ruth Montgomery and husband, Carl, of Abilene and Rebecca Perry and husband, Ricky, of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Gertrude Bronner and Dean Green; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
