Charles Edward Burkwalt

Charles Edward Burkwalt, age 76 of Springport passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home. He was born February 19, 1942 in Concord Twp the son of William and Frances (Few) Burkwalt. On December 3, 1960, he married the love of his life, Thelma Jean Prater in Albion and she survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Rick Burkwalt, Terry Burkwalt and Tracy (Greg) Jorgensen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 2 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Charles was employed by Brooks Foundry and later by Harvard Industries as a millwright. He was very a very hard working, talented guy, even building his own home. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family. According to his wishes, cremation will take place and private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion.
