Ruth “Jean” Ralston, age 97 of Albion passed away in her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice Care of SW Michigan on Saturday, January 12, 2019. She was born on August 15, 1921 in Albion the daughter of Clarence and Bessie (Leach) Trine. She married Donald A. Ralston and he precedes her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, a son, Robert L. Ralston, Daughter, Connie Montgomery, great-grandson, Levi, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Jean was a graduate of Albion High School. She was very much a lady, but also a very hard worker, working as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business in addition to being employed at several other places throughout her life including Corning Glass. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, the Entre Nous Club and was involved with the ladie’s groups in the church as well. Jean loved to socialize, enjoyed eating out, playing scrabble, fishing and enjoyed playing card games, including Euchre.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory 3 children: Susanne Sullivan, Lloyd D. (Sharon) Mapes, Jr., David S. (Barbara) Ralston and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI on Thursday, January 17,, 2019 from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Service to celebrate Jean’s life will be on Friday, January 18 at 1 PM at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Leslee Fritz followed by burial at Clarence Center Cemetery.
