Marjorie Elaine Goodin
January 21, 1932 – April 25, 2019
Marjorie Elaine Goodin (Weaver), 87, passed away on April 25, 2019.
Preceding her in death are her parents William and Rowena Weaver, Rowena being born and raised in Knoxville, TN, and her only sibling her sister Evelyn Jeffries.
Marjorie married James Goodin, whom she met in 6th grade and who later became a Korean war veteran, on Palm Sunday, 4-14-1957 in Bedford, IN.
She retired from Bell Telephone Company after 32 years of service.
She was the proud mother to her only child Kimberly Dawn and mother-in-law to James. She was also blessed with grandchildren, Sarah Faith whom she cared for many years as well as most recently Hailey and Kaiden.
She loved cats and had several over the years. She was happiest when taking a ride with her husband through the countryside or watching an old movie and reminiscing with him about their youth together, talking makeup and hair ideas with her daughter, coloring pictures and fixing snacks with Sarah, “talking Jesus” with James or getting a “hello and a hug” from Hailey or Kaiden.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 62 years and her lifelong friend of 74 years, and her daughter, son in law and grandchildren. We know that Jesus was waiting for her as she was released from the pain and frustration she suffered from her debilitated body and mind and now her soul is freed.
