September 24, 1960 – July 31, 2018
Leda Ann Speer Royer went to be with the Lord, 31 Jul 18. She fought a long, hard battle with several different illnesses. She loved everyone and had a contagious smile that hid the pain. She is survived by her husband Floyd Royer of Alexander, daughter Leticia Baker and son-in-Law Loyd Baker of Waynesville, MO, three adopted stepsons: Ben Royer of Alexander, Tim Royer and daughter-in-Law Shandis Royer of Searcy, and Joe Royer of Alexander, a sister Donna Baker of Alexander, a brother Terry Speer of Bryant, and two grandchildren Austin and Laci Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Speer and Martha Ann (Williams) Speer both of Alexander. A celebration of her life will be held on 25 August 2018 @ 1:00 p.m. at Vimy Ridge Immanuel Baptist Church. A pot luck will be held at the church after the celebration of life. She asked that everyone wear something with a dog on it. It can be a pin, or T-shirt but something casual. Remember this is a CELEBRATION of life. There will be a point where it is asked if you want to speak on behalf of her. Her daughter will be leading the celebration with several kind words about her! Join in! Leda was known for her love of animals. She retired as an Animal abuse investigator for Pulaski County Humane Society. She has a badge displayed in Washington, DC for her work with animals! In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pulaski County Humane Society in her name.

Leda was always such a sweet soul. Always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. I talked to her several times on Facebook over the last few years and I’ve known her basically my whole life. My thoughts and prayers go out to my uncle (Terry Speer and Aunt Karen) Donna and her kids and grandkids. The world has lost a good one.

While Leda and I didn't have many classes together in school, we connected at our 10 year reunion at Mills Park. Then again, years later, on FB. We visited mostly on FB, but we got together a couple times at her house and I got to meet her dogs. 😃 She also loved her yellow house. ☺
Praying for peace and comfort for all of Leda's family and friends.

Leda and I became friends in junior high, and stayed in touch through the years. She'll be missed by so many. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

Leda and I became friends in about 6th grade. We shared many laughs and lots of love. I know she has been in so much pain...her suffering is over.
My prayers are with the family.
