The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home. Celebration of Edith’s life will be held with a graveside service Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery with Royce Mason presiding
Edith was born January 11, 1919 in Willis, Oklahoma to Joe Forguson and Effie Foote. She was a sibling of 15 brothers and sisters. In January 1939, she married the love of her life Frank Lee Schmidt. They lived and worked side by side on the family farm in the Fairview community of Armstrong County for forty years. Edith and Frank had one daughter, Norma (Schmidt) Bryant. Following the passing of Frank in 1980, Edith later married her second husband, L.C. Danley. Edith and L.C were married and resided in Amarillo, TX until his passing in 2001. She continued to reside in Amarillo enjoying visits from family and neighbors. Edith was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother of three generations. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Edith loved to sing and play multiple musical instruments to family when visiting. She loved playing cards, dominoes, and many other games.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Frank Lee Schmidt and L.C. Danley; her siblings; and great-grandson Nicholas Lewis whom passed in 2008. Edith is survived by her daughter, Norma Bryant and husband C.M. of Claude, TX. three grand-daughters, Brenda Butler and husband Jimmy of Claude, TX, Lynn Lewis and husband Mark of Amarillo, TX, and Nikkole Inman and husband Sam of Jackson, MS; 7 great-grandchildren including Brooke Van Winkle, Josh Lewis, Kirby Godfrey, Matt Butler, Spencer Inman, Ike Inman, and Gunner Inman; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asked to make donations to the Washburn Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 316 Claude, TX 79019.
