Marcia Palmitier

A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 205 SW Walnut in Ankeny. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines. A luncheon will follow the burial at Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Temple in Altoona. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Marcia Faye Bell was born December 20, 1942, Milbank, South Dakota to Delbert and Roberta Bell. On October 29, 1966, Marcia was united in marriage to Lloyd David Palmitier at the Little Brown Church. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before Dave’s passing on June 27, 2012. The couple was blessed with two sons, Lance and Alec.

Marcia has been a faithful member of the Ankeny First United Methodist Church and volunteered at many events. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Madrid, and church exercise group in Ankeny.

Marcia also enjoyed playing the organ, bowling, and traveling. Most of all, she treasured time spent with Dave, her sons, and grandchildren who she loved deeply.

Marcia is survived by her sons, Lance (Sunnie) Palmitier, and Alec (Jeana) Palmitier; grandchildren, Logan, Garet, Kenadee, Sadie, Harlee, Dawson and Matt; brother, Stan (Sophie) Bell; sister, Dixie Hennig and In-laws: Cheri and Dan May, Steve and Teresa Palmitier and Jack and Joy Palmitier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, and her parents.
