Melinda Dotson

Melinda Dotson, 65, of Ankeny, Iowa completed her journey home on October 27, 2013 after a courageous and dignified fight with cancer.

A celebration of Melinda’s life will be held at a later date.

Melinda Blanche Dotson was born in Ames, Iowa on May 24, 1948 to Robert and Madelyn Dotson. She grew up in Ames and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art from the University of Iowa.

Melinda was always filled with unconditional love to everyone she met. She never knew a stranger, and some favorite words used often were “fabulous” and “wonderful”.

Survivors include her brother, Robert (Mary) Dotson of Algona, Iowa; sister, Jacqueline McCarthy-Floyd of Oelwein, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Melinda brought her cats to me for veterinary services. She was a kind and compassionate woman who adored her cats and took very good care of them. We will miss her.
