Shelli Sue Metz, 62, of Slater, Iowa passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021. She was born March 29, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa to Ralph and Fonda (Blake) Andrew. She grew up surrounded by her many cousins who were more like siblings. The family spent many weekends camping around the state of Iowa. She graduated from Indianola High School and went on to DMACC where she met her husband, Kirk. She had an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and worked at both the Marshalltown Hospital and McFarland Clinic before deciding to stay home and spend more time with her girls.
Shelli loved her family beyond measure and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She was a fixture at all of the sporting events, concerts and recitals. She was involved in the Slater Log Cabin Quilters and was teaching each of the grandchildren to sew. She enjoyed playing board games of any kind and was especially fond of card games. Shelli was involved in numerous Slater activities and served on the cemetery committee for many years.
She is survived by her husband Kirk of Slater, Iowa; Daughters Melissa (Brian) Bauer of Polk City, Iowa, Kimberly (Mario) Murillo of Union, Missouri; Grandchildren Sofia Murillo (13), Isabella Bauer (12), Abigail Murillo (10) and Blake Bauer (9); and Brother Randy (Vicki) Andrew of Indianola, Iowa. She was proceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Fonda Andrew and parents-in-law Glenn and Zelda Metz.
