Wilma June Mansfield, 90, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St. Ankeny, IA 50023). A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed towards Open Bible Fellowship in Ankeny (1125 SW 3rd St. Ankeny, IA 50023).

Wilma was born June 4, 1927 in rural New Market, Iowa, to Bert and Clara (Wilson) Adams. She graduated from New Market High School in 1944 and earned her teaching degree from the University of South Dakota. Wilma was united in marriage to Edwin Briggs in 1944 and they welcomed a daughter, Linda. They were later divorced. Wilma was married to Neil Vincent Mansfield in 1960 and he passed away in 1981. Wilma had an appreciation for music, and enjoyed singing; she also liked reading and doing crosswords along with keeping her garden. Wilma was a prayer warrior and most importantly, enjoyed spending time with her family.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Linda Baedke; grandson, Jeffrey Baedke; great-granddaughter, Olivia Baedke; nieces and nephews: Shari (Gary) Johnston, Lillian Hutt, Judy (Frank) King, Gayle (Rod) Bolton, Paula (Bob) Stanley, Patricia (Alvin) Addis, Kay Outhier, Jim Downey, Steve (Dee) Downey, Barbara (Bob) Livingston, Connie (Greg) Joe and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bert and Clara Adams; brothers: Paul, John and Meril Adams; sisters: Mildred Wiles, Shirley Downey and Mary Adams and her husband, Neil Mansfield.
