Marilyn A. Finkbeiner of Ann Arbor passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020 in Georgia. She is survived by her sister Janice Van Dyken, sons Gregory (Donna) Finkbeiner and Douglas (Erin) Finkbeiner, grandchildren Angela Finkbeiner, Michael Blackmon, and Brandy (Scott) Newman, six great-grandchildren, in-laws Larry Mack, Bob (Rachel) Finkbeiner, Herb (Margaret) Alber, Irene Finkbeiner, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Orman and Mildred Haas, and husband Gerald Finkbeiner, nephew Derran Haynes, and in-laws Richard (Olive) Finkbeiner, Jane Mack, and Howard Finkbeiner. Born Marilyn Alice Haas on July 7, 1940 in Ann Arbor, she attended Ann Arbor High School. After two years at Capital University in Ohio, she earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Michigan and worked there for many years as an administrative assistant. She was a proud member of the University of Michigan Choral Union for 40 years, participating in over 150 performances, many with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She was a lifelong member of King of Kings Lutheran Church and an enthusiastic member of the choir. Marilyn resided in Ann Arbor for most of her life until moving to Silver Maples of Chelsea in 2016. In 2018, she moved to Georgia to be near her son, Gregory. Visitation will be held at Muehlig Funeral Chapel at 403 South Fourth Ave, Ann Arbor, MI on Friday, January 24, 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 2685 Packard St, Ann Arbor, MI on January 25 at 10am. Burial will take place in Bethlehem Cemetery following the service.
