Joanne Kosher, age 91, of Ann Arbor, Michigan and formerly of Euclid, Ohio, passed away quietly on March 12, 2024. She was the beloved aunt of Janet (Curtis) Helwig of River Forest, Illinois, Elizabeth (Merrill) Rolla of Tampa, Florida, and Anthony (Erica) Kosher of Mentor, Ohio, and a loving great-aunt to Sarah and Claire Helwig, Max and Benny Rolla-Mullis, and Ella Kosher. Joanne was the second child of Anna Mary "Mayme" (nee Debelak) and Anthony "Tony" Kosher. She graduated from Euclid Shore High School and Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing. For many years, she worked as a nurse for Ohio Rubber Company and spent her free time traveling the world. In later life, she was an avid gardener and a volunteer usher at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square. Additionally, she volunteered with the Slovenian Genealogy Society, conducting interviews of fellow American Slovenians to help preserve their histories and stories. Joanne adored her extended Slovenian community. She will be remembered for her lively polka dancing each year in her mother’s hometown of Traunik, Michigan, and at Slovenian gatherings in the Cleveland area. Her nieces and nephews, spanning two generations, will remember Aunt Jo applying her nursing skills to gleefully pull every splinter and ice every sunburn. Joanne was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Alice (Dudley) Rolla, Bob (Barbara) Kosher, and Carole Fuller.
