unexpectedly at his home in Anniston, AL on August 11, 2022. He was born February 6, 1990
in Arlington Heights, IL and grew up in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Alabama. He had such a loving
and compassionate heart even from a young age, including staying with and caring for his
grandparents during his Grandpa Jerry Joe Brezina’s illness when he was a teenager, and then
later staying with and caring for his dad Jerry Brezina during a difficult time in his dad’s life.
He was always thinking of others and often opened up his home to help people get back on
their feet. His compassionate heart didn’t stop with people…he was a dedicated animal lover
and advocate and at one point in time owned 3 dogs and 3 cats. There was never a stray dog
or cat that he would not bring home and either keep himself or give to his mom Linda. He
loved spending time with his family and was an avid board and card game lover, so every
family gathering meant there had to be games played and he often wanted to keep playing
when everyone else was “gamed out”. He graduated from Thompson High School in Alabaster,
AL, in 2008 and later earned an Associate in Science Degree from Jefferson State Community
College in Birmingham, AL in 2016. He had big dreams for his future and worked in various
occupations searching for the right fit. At the time of his death, he was considering returning
to school at Gadsden State to become a tax accountant. A life cut too short, Andy will be
deeply missed by his mother, Linda (Dahl) Brezina; sister, Megan Brezina and her long-time
partner, Todd Hester; nephew, Joshua Bozeman; niece, Tamsin Hester; and aunts, uncles, and
cousins; and his many friends. Andy is also survived by his 2 dogs, Komet and Pinky, and 2
cats, Twinkle and Buttercup. Family and friends are welcome to share condolences and
memories online as there is no memorial service planned. In lieu of flowers, please make a
donation in Andy’s name to any humane society that does not euthanize, which Andy was very
passionately against.
