Our beloved Myrna L. Lathers left her earthly home on February 9, 2021. Myrna was a strong, special person to anyone that she crossed paths with. Her personal testimony was like none other. Myrna was devoted in her faith. Her faith in God never wavered and carried her through trials and tribulations her entire life. But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely (Psalm 59:16,17).

Myrna was born to Capt. Martin and Mrs. Myra S. Lathers in Memphis Tennessee. She found her home in Calhoun Co, Alabama. She was a long-time resident of Casey Estates at McClellan where she was loved and cherished by many neighbors. Myrna was very active in several church organizations as well as private religious groups and prayer groups. She had a huge heart for helping others around the entire world.

Myrna is survived by two brothers: Malcom (Frances J) Lathers; Anniston and Merrill (Frances H) Lathers; Hawaii, her very special best friend, Brenda (Kenneth) Leahey, a host of nieces and nephews and a great group of friends that loved her dearly. She also is survived by one special love, Dawn (James) Wright and their children, Emily and John.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Madeline Lathers, nephew, Russell Lathers and special love Kai Wright.

Memorials may be made at any religious organization of your choice as she was a firm believer is supporting both local and national outreach programs. One of Myrna’s favorite things to do was to write handwritten letters and cards. Any time you think of her send a note or card to someone you love.

Precious Myrna, you are now in Eternity and your friends on earth miss you a whole lot. Your many many cards have cheered us up so often. I am going to use the healing
Bible verses you shared with me as Bible study material. You were the sweetest most loving sister. You were open to learn and willing to share and you had a lot to share because you stayed in the WORD. Every hug was sincere. To know you is to LOVE you. To loose you is heartbreaking.

I knew Myrna for a short while, but felt like I knew her for years. She was a kind, happy, pleasant person, fun to be around. I will miss her at our family get togethers, of which she made herself a part of.

I had the privilege of knowing Ms. Myrna - such a beautiful soul. She was a very good friend and prayer partner to my mother, Pearlie Bush, who lived at Casey Estates. My mother transitioned to Heaven on December 2, 2020. Ms. Myrna was heartbroken but never waivers in her faith. Ms. Myrna attended my Mom’s graveside services, prayed with us, cried with us and rejoiced with us! Such a sweet, caring, God fearing, ready to share The Gospel Woman of God! Until we meet again! We love you Ms. Myrna

To the Lather's family, sorry for your loss of a very special lady and friend. I have to say that your family was like my own, remembering Momma and Poppa Lathers and all of the great times that we spent together there at your home at Four Mile. Love to all of the family.
