Reba Hightower Batchelor

Reba Hightower Batchelor, 86, of Anniston, Alabama passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2018, 2 – 4 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Dr. Todd Stewart will officiate a funeral service the following day, Monday, July 2, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Saks beginning at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Reba is survived by her daughter Venita Batchelor Toney (Glenn) of Anniston, AL; son Michael Batchelor (Stephanie) of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren Randall Toney (Jamie), Ashley Toney (Quintin Blackmon), Whitney Johnson (Sean), Kristin Jones (Jake), Peyton Batchelor; great-grandchildren Levi and Evan Toney, Sadie Brooke, Sydney and Luke Johnson; brothers Leon Hightower, Trillis Hightower (Sandra); sisters-in-law Sarah Helen Thacker, Betty Hightower, Dot Hightower, Maxine Commeens, Gail Cagle, Joyce Whitehead; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Batchelor; daughter Sheilah Diane Batchelor; parents Asa and Pairlee Hightower; brothers Palmer Hightower, Levoid Hightower, Rethal Hightower; and sister Laverne Hightower.

Reba was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Saks and a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves. Most of all, she loved taking care of people. She was the epitome of a people person.
