Wanda Rhodes Rhodes Whitehead

Ohatchee – Funeral service for Mrs. Wanda Rhodes Whitehead, age, 60, will be Friday, August 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Burke officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Whitehead passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at RMC.

Mrs. Whitehead was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Alvin Whitehead of Ohatchee; daughters, Shawnee Whitehead Stewart, Tracy Whitehead both of Ohatchee; son, Shane (Tina) Whitehead of Southside; parents, Calvin and Martha Rhodes of Alexandria; sisters, Linda (Lester) Houston, Joyce (Rodney) Boyd, Shelia (Kelly) Lee; brother Larry (Carla) Rhodes; grandchildren, Hannah Davidson, Tyler Davidson, Abbi Whitehead, Ella Whitehead, Kadi Whitehead; and one great grandson on the way; and a “very” special friend Jewel Thaxton.

Pallbearers will be George Wolfe, Tony Haver, Bob Heathcock, Rolf Reynolds, Mike Obrien, Mark Medders, Chris Easterwood, Shannon Easterwood and C. J. Boyd honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Davidson.

Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Bessie Cargal; Murt M. Rhodes and Mae Ingram Rhodes.

Mrs. Whitehead was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and the family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Charles Lattuada and the Cancer Care Center, RMC Oncology staff and Comfort Care Hospice.
