A graveside service will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery 2264 Macedonia Rd, Ragland, Alabama 35131 on Thursday November 1st 2023 with Bro. Bo Honea officiating. Pastor Terry Graves is the honorary clergy for Mr. Cooper's service. The service will begin at 2:00 pm that afternoon and the public is invited to attend.
Yancey is survived by his daughters Makayla and Lilly Cooper; his sons Micah and Nate Cooper; his sisters Dana Cooper, Roxanne Cloar and Tammie Forgey; his nephews Matthew and Ray Cooper, and Carlos Ruiz Cooper, his nieces Leona Cooper, Michelle Cooper, Jessica Ruiz Cooper, Idalia Ruiz Cooper, Amanda Sanders, and Alex and April Forgey along with several great nieces and nephews.
Yancey was preceded in death by his father Steve Cooper and his mother Leona Honea; and his brother Steven Anthony Cooper.
Yancey Cooper was born in Anniston, grew up in Wellborn and eventually graduated from Ragland High School. Mr. Cooper was a lover of the outdoors, therefore, fishing was one of his favorite hobbies. As a teenager, Yancey was baptized at Hill Crest Baptist Church. It is also a well-known fact that he was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. A great father and loving uncle, Yancey will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed enough with the privilege of knowing him.
