She was born in Parkersburg, WV where she met and married William “Bill” Holbert in 1950. They moved to Richmond, VA where she rose to supervisor at Phillip Morris in the 1960’s. Moving to Virginia Beach, VA in 1968 she was a devoted housewife, mother, and member of Wycliffe Presbyterian Church. Wanda retired to Apex, NC where she avidly pursued gardening, quilting, and enjoying her great grandchildren.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Bill. She is survived by her 3 children, Susan Brooks (Robert) of Roswell, GA, Mary Tassone of Apex, NC, and William Holbert (Katie) of Apex, NC; her 7 grandchildren, Kathryn Brooks, Robert Brooks Jr, Timothy Holbert, Emily Crowell (Michael), Jarrett Tassone, Joel Tassone, and Alex Holbert; and her 2 great grandchildren, Aiden and Addison Crowell.
A funeral service will be held at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W Williams St, Apex, NC 27502 on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow the service at Apex Cemetery, 315 W Williams St, Apex NC 27502. The family will receive friends and guests prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. After the graveside service, you are invited to join the family for “The Good Things” Celebration.
